Round Trip means coming home to the self, over and over, through the practice of return. Like seasons, cycles and revolutions.
Located in downtown Easthampton and opening January 2027, Round Trip is a studio where we teach precise, rooted and relational yoga asana and philosophy. Our sequences are built on alignment that is repeatable and measurable, and our classes run every day at hours that work for working people. We provide the time and place to choose beyond habit, and to find out what the body can learn and unlearn with intention and attention.
Endless departures, endless homecomings. How delightful.
Max Gonen
Max trained at Kripalu and is currently studying to become a Katonah Yoga teacher with Abbie Galvin and the Katonah Yoga Collective. His teaching runs through Ashtanga, Kripalu Hatha and Katonah: repetition, structure, alignment and metaphor in service of an embodied spiritual practice.
He is also a bodyworker, trained in assisted stretch and fascial release. He is currently finishing a PhD in Communication theorizing endurance and cultures of healing and wellness through the lens of his trans embodiment.
He is a float facilitator at Go With The Float, caretaker to Gnome the dog and Joan the cat, and is deeply in love with Western Massachusetts.
OUR COMMITMENTS
Our schedule includes all-levels, beginner-friendly and advanced practicioner options. Props are provided and used generously, and every pose has a way in that meets you where you're at. Fran has trained extensively with Jivana Heyman and specializes in Accessible Yoga.
Our practice draws from music, art and poetry as well as yoga philosophy and anatomy. We treat sequencing as a craft and the body as a vessel for creative expression.
Yoga invites connection to nature beyond the self. Practice puts the body in relationship with the patterns of the universe: rhythm, shapes and cycles remind us we're part of something beyond our selves.
You can practice alone at home, and we hope you do. But class is where we learn together and from each other. The studio is a social space: we encourage lingering, asking questions during and practice, and learning together beyond the teacher student relationship.
